Our students and staff traveled to Virginia City for the day today. Virginia City is an old mining town in the mountains outside of Reno which has been restored and turned into a local attraction. We did many fun things, including riding a train pulled by an old steam engine, touring an old mine, and having group photos taken in costumes from the Gold Rush era. We ate lunch together on a shaded patio on the main street through the town. We had some free, time which enabled each student to choose what he/she wanted to do. Some students walked through the shops and museums. Others panned for gold and gems; they were able to take their gold or gems home with them. It was a wonderful day which students and staff alike found enjoyable and memorable!
